Breckenridge

The perfect mountain town.

During the 2007-2008 season, Breckenridge Ski Resort captured more than 1.63 million skier visits, making it the most popular ski area in North America. Particularly favored among out-of-state and international travelers, Breckenridge was honored to be named one of the Top Five Ski Locations in the World by the BBC in October 2006 and ranked as the ninth best resort in the U.S. by SKI Magazine in 2008.

Rich History, New Possibilities.
Breckenridge is poised to accelerate its momentum with the development of Peaks 7 and 8. In May 2007, Vail Resorts Development Company broke ground on the first building of the Breckenridge Peaks lodging project. The Crystal Peak Lodge sold all 45 units, demonstrating the strength of the Breckenridge real estate market. The Breckenridge Peaks will also include a new Peak 7 base area and the redeveloped Peak 8 base area.

Our latest project, One Ski Hill Place, was introduced in December 2007 as the first building of a multi-building development project that'll create a unique ski-in, ski-out luxury experience at the base of Peak 8.

As part of the Breckenridge Peaks development plan, in December 2006 the resort unveiled the BreckConnect gondola, an environmentally-progressive resort transit system designed to streamline transportation between downtown and the resort's Peaks 7 and 8. A symbol of the unification of Vail Resorts and the Breckenridge community, BreckConnect accommodates the volume of guests attracted to the resort while maintaining the historic character and vibrancy of Breckenridge's Main Street and Downtown.

Freestyle Expansion.
For the 2007-2008 season, Breckenridge featured a new terrain park on Peak 8 designed to help novice skiers and riders gradually build freestyle skills. Crafted by the resort's award-winning terrain park team, the multi-level park pod features a beginner park and pipe, an intermediate park and an expert superpark and pipe. Breckenridge has also added a snowmaking system on Peak 8's Park Lane and will turn the entire run into a mid sized, intermediate terrain park. Breckenridge has a strong reputation among snowboard and freestyle industry leaders and consistently ranks among the top three resorts for providing the best half-pipes and terrain parks in the world.
