Beaver Creek

Not exactly roughing it.

Defined by lavish amenities, impeccable service and slopes worthy of World Cup racing, Beaver Creek Resort pampers discerning travelers seeking an alpine experience in a luxury resort setting. A year-round destination, Beaver Creek features championship golf courses, elegant lodging and restaurants, festivals of art, food and wine and world-class entertainment.

The youngest major ski area in the U.S., Beaver Creek debuted in 1980 and has grown steadily in size and esteem achieving a record-setting number of skier visits for the 2007-2008 ski season. The resort now spans 1,800 acres across three base areas, creating a European-inspired village-to-village ski experience with diverse terrain, impeccable grooming and world-class amenities and cuisine.

Recognized for Excellence.
SKI Magazine ranks Beaver Creek among the top 10 best ski resorts in the U.S. and the National Ski Area Association has recognized the resort with the Best Overall Customer Service Program award for three consecutive years. Loyal destination travelers value the seamless family vacation experience found within Beaver Creek's intimate gated community.

Paradise, Enhanced.
New for the 2008-2009 season, Beaver Creek improves the experience for its littlest guests with the debut of a state-of-the-art, specially designed chilrdren's ski and snowboard school, The Ranch, which is located at the top of the resort's eight-passenger Buckaroo Express Gondola that opened just last year. With a ride time of just 3.75 minutes, the Buckaroo gives kids (and grownups) a warm and comfortable ride to beginner learning terrain.

Less Driving, More Skiing.
Families and individuals staying in the Town of Avon can begin their ski day at Beaver Creek with added comfort and convenience by riding the new Riverfront Express Gondola, that opened during the 2007-2008 winter season The gondola is a short walk from the Town of Avon’s new transit center and is decreasing traffic volumes and improving the winter vacation experience.

The gondola is part of the $500 million Riverfront Village mixed-use development, featuring the Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa, that opened this summer.  The Westin condo hotel is seeking Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
