Breckenridge to Open Peak 6 for the 2013-2014 Season

This season, Breckenridge will have one of its most exciting years ever; as the resort adds over 540 acres to its famous landscape via the Peak 6 are just north of Peak 7. Peak 6 will include 400 acres of lift-served terrain and 143 acres of hike-to terrain, representing a 23 percent increase in resort’s skiable acres. This is one of the most notable ski area expansions in the past decade, and will feature high-alpine, intermediate bowl skiing – a rare find in North America. The projected opening day for the Peak 6 lifts and terrain will be announced early during the winter season as construction comes to a conclusion and the snow begins to fly. Peak 6 is the first ski terrain expansion on U.S. Forest Service land in Colorado since 2008 and the first at Breckenridge since the Peak 7 expansion in 2002.

2013 Dew Tour to return to Breck, Dec. 12 – 15, 2013 as an Olympic Selection Event

This season’s Winter Dew Tour will kick of the 2014 Olympic qualifying season in North America and showcase the world’s top contenders in both Snowboarding and Freesking. Watch the excitement and action up front at Peak 8 of Breckenridge Ski Resort, with an exciting on-site experience featuring more live music and the “Dew Tour Experience,” bringing all aspects of action sports culture to life throughout the five-day festivals. Spring Fever is on Fire!

Mid March – April 20, 2013 - Brecks Spring Fever Festival has become the best spring skiing festival in the Rocky Mountains. This year’s event saw over 30 events during the month-long festival throughout town and the mountain, including the popular Bud Light concert series on the specially constructed Peak 8 stage, featuring musical acts such as The Bosstones and the Dirty Heads. Other signature events include the Throwback Throwdown featuring past and present legends of halfpipe snowboarding, Kids’ Easter Weekend and the grueling Imperial Challenge. Spring in Breck is widely known for having the best snow in Colorado, along with sunny bluebird days, special events, and great deals for guests from around the world.
