Robert A. Katz
Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer

Rob is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Vail Resorts. He has served as Chairman since March 2009. Previously, he served as Lead Director from June 2003 until his appointment as Chief Executive Officer in February 2006. Rob has served on the board of directors of Vail Resorts since 1996 and has been involved with the Company since 1991. Prior to becoming the Chief Executive Officer, he was associated with Apollo Management L.P., a private equity investment firm, since its founding in 1990. Rob and his wife are the founders and board members of the Katz Amsterdam Foundation, which seeks to help address behavioral health challenges in mountain resort communities and support organizations that are working to address racial justice challenges across the United States.   Rob currently serves on the Wharton Leadership Advisory Board and the Fast Company Impact Council, and he has previously served on numerous private, public and nonprofit boards. Recent recognition for Rob and his leadership at Vail Resorts includes: Global Game Changer (Forbes 2017), one of Most Creative People in Business (Fast Company), Transformational Entrepreneur of the Year (Ernst & Young 2016), and Most Admired CEO (Denver Business Journal 2018). During Rob’s tenure, Vail Resorts has been recognized as one of America’s Best Employers (Forbes 2021, 2019, 2018, 2017 & 2016), America’s Best Employers for Women (Forbes 2020, 2019), one of the World's 50 Most Innovative Companies (Fast Company 2016) and one of the World’s Most Innovative Companies in Travel (Fast Company 2017).

James C. O'Donnell
President | Mountain Division

James was appointed President of the Mountain Division in June 2021, leading the operations across all resorts as well as the real estate business. James joined Vail Resorts in 2002 and has held numerous leadership positions including Chief Operating Officer of Vail Resorts Hospitality and Chief Financial Officer for the Hospitality Division before he was appointed Executive Vice President of Hospitality, Retail and Real Estate in 2016. Prior to 2002, James specialized in the hospitality and real estate industries as an Assurance and Business Advisory Services Manager at Arthur Andersen.

   
     
     
     
Michael Z. Barkin
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Michael was named Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in April 2013. He joined the Company in July 2012 as Vice President of Strategy and Development. Prior to joining Vail Resorts, Michael was a Principal at KRG Capital Partners, where he was a member of the investment team since 2006. Prior to KRG, he worked at Bain Capital Partners and Bain & Company. Michael currently serves on the board of directors and as audit committee chair of Clear Secure, Inc., the secure identity company, and is a board member of the National Forest Foundation and the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver.

Kirsten A. Lynch
Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer

Kirsten was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer in July 2011. Prior to joining Vail Resorts, Kirsten was with PepsiCo, where she was Chief Marketing Officer of Quaker Foods and Snacks Division from 2009-2011. Prior to PepsiCo, Kirsten worked for Kraft Foods for 12 years in various positions including Vice President of Marketing for Kraft Foods’ Cheese and Dairy Business Unit and Senior Marketing Director for Kraft Macaroni & Cheese. She started her marketing career with Ford Motor Company. Kirsten is also a member of the board of directors of Stitch Fix, Inc., a publicly traded ecommerce company focused on personalized data-driven fashion. In 2019, Kirsten was named to Forbes’ CMO Next list, recognized as one of the top 50 Game-Changing Marketing Leaders.

David T. Shapiro
Executive Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary

David joined Vail Resorts as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary in July 2015. Prior to joining the Company, David served as General Counsel for DaVita Kidney Care, a division of DaVita Inc., and previously served as the company's Chief Compliance Officer and Chief Special Counsel. Before joining DaVita in 2008, David practiced law with firms in Connecticut, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., and he also served as a trial attorney with the United States Department of Justice. David currently serves as a member of the board of directors of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and the board of trustees for Colorado Academy. He has previously served on other private and nonprofit boards, including the Children's Hospital Colorado and the Denver Public School Foundation.

 

 
     
     
     
Lynanne J. Kunkel
Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer

Lynanne was named Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer in May 2017. Previous to joining Vail Resorts, Lynanne served as Senior Vice President of Global Human Resources for Michigan-based Whirlpool Corporation and she held various other executive positions within the company including Vice President of Global Talent Development & HR Asia and Human Resources Vice President (North America Region) since she joined in 2010. From 1989-2009, she served in a number of leadership roles at Ohio-based Procter & Gamble Company, including Human Resources Director of Global Home Care. Lynanne has served on the board of directors for both the United Way and Habitat for Humanity in Southwest Michigan.

   
     
     
     
Timothy M. April
Executive Vice President, Chief Information Officer

Tim was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer in October 2020. Since joining Vail Resorts in 2002, Tim served in numerous leadership positions including IT Director of Enterprise Applications, IT Director of Mountain Division, Sales and Marketing, and Vice President of Information Technology, before he was appointed Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer in 2018. Prior to joining Vail Resorts, Tim specialized on large scale PeopleSoft implementations for Government and Education clients as an IT Consultant at Accenture.

Bill Rock
Executive Vice President, Mountain Operations & Chief Operating Officer, Rockies Region

Bill was appointed Executive Vice President of Mountain Operations in June, 2021, retaining his role as Chief Operating Officer of the Rocky Mountain Region. Previously, Bill was Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Rocky Mountain region with oversight responsibility for Vail Mountain, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone and Crested Butte in Colorado as well as Park City Mountain in Utah. Prior to this role, he was Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Park City Mountain, a role he began in October 2014. After joining Vail Resorts as the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Northstar California in 2010, he later added oversight of Heavenly and Kirkwood before his move to Park City. Bill started his career in the mountain resort industry in 1996 at Bristol Mountain in New York as Director of Marketing and quickly progressed in the industry holding several leadership roles, including Chief Operating Officer at Purgatory and Snowshoe Mountain. He currently serves on the board of the National Ski Areas Association and has been active on numerous community boards throughout his career.

Greg Sullivan
Senior Vice President, Retail/Rental and Hospitality

Greg was appointed Senior Vice President of Retail/Rental and Hospitality in June 2021 after joining the company in September 2016 as Chief Operating Officer of Rental/Retail. Prior to joining Vail Resorts, Greg was the Senior Vice President of Global Business Transformation at Crocs and before that he held numerous roles in a 20 year career with Walmart culminating as a Division President, overseeing the Southeast Division based in Atlanta. Greg has previously served on the Board of Directors for SOS Outreach and as a council member of Executive Leadership Development for the American Diabetes Association.
